Everything Edith van der Linden does—whether leading as Principal of Le Bocage International School in Mauritius, chairing synchronised or multi-programme evaluation visits, or coaching aspiring female leaders—is rooted in Appreciative Inquiry and a deep belief in building from what works well. Her approach centres on uncovering strengths, amplifying goodness, and nurturing potential in people and communities.
Originally from the Netherlands, Edith began her IB journey in 1998 as a teacher of English Literature and has remained deeply connected to the IB ever since. Her leadership career has spanned schools in the UK and the Netherlands, including serving as Deputy Head at an IB continuum school offering the PYP, MYP, and DP. Now based in Mauritius, she brings this rich experience to her role as Principal in a dynamic international context.
Since 2008, Edith has also supported schools globally as a lead educator with IBEN for both the MYP and DP. She is a respected Chair for synchronised and multi-programme visits and a certified Collaborative Learning Protocol (CLP) visitor for NEASC. Across all her roles, Edith’s work is guided by curiosity, collaboration, and the belief that meaningful change begins with asking the right questions.
